Il Boutique Hotel de Cortes è uno dei primi ospizi nelle Americhe, un gioiello del barocco messicano, riconvertito in un moderno boutique hotel. L’edificio fu costruito probabilmente all’inizio del XVII secolo; qualche anno dopo l’ordine di Sant’Agostino lo convertì in uno dei primi ospizi delle Americhe, dove i monaci venivano ospitati prima di imbarcarsi per le missioni di diffusione del Cristianesimo nelle Filippine. Nel 1780, come indicato sulla facciata, l’edificio fu rimodellato e divenne un hotel.
